We are a husband-wife writing team. The purpose of this blog is to capture the planning process, the trip, the photography and the writing for our trip on historic Route 66. We have three young sons who fell in love with “Ornament Valley”, “Radiator Springs” and the beautiful vistas and cars from Disney-Pixar’s Cars movie.
This trip has been inspired by three little boys, a Disney movie, old favs on the radio, one dad’s love of photography and one mom’s love of writing.
We hope to collect the process here. Afterall, this trip is just as much about the journey as the destination.

Can I come?
You have no idea….the chaos and extreme poverty that made Rt 66 famous is upon us again. Document that. Was out there last summer when gas was over 4 dollars a gallon…….many towns were ghost towns.

Well, it’s an American icon. Good, bad or ugly. I’d like to believe that we can find beauty among the isolated towns. And if travelers like us don’t go, then the towns will surely have no income. We believe in hope.
And in that, there is great beauty.
